Category: THE REPORTING RAVEN: COVID_19 ARCHIVE
We kept a log of events in lockdown through 2020 – 2021. Our news posts started at the beginning of lockdown when coronavirus started to spread in South Wales and government legislated to lockdown the country to control the pandemic.
We took photographs of the first night pubs and clubs were in lockdown when the town suddenly went quiet. Only essential shops were open and with social distancing rules in operation we saw the start of queues outside supermarkets, chemists and banks.
Our articles then focussed on the empty landmarks and popular tourist places such as Barry Island, Porthkerry, Cold Knap, Penarth and Cardiff.
The posts and our Barry Guide Pages will form a record of the start of one of the most bizarre and frightening years this country has known.
