THE REPORTING RAVEN: COVID_19 ARCHIVE

LIFEGUARDS ARE BACK ON BARRY ISLAND BEACH

After weeks of lockdown and travel restrictions the road is now open onto Barry Island and car park restrictions are lifted. Local residents, living within 5 miles of Barry are now able to spend the day on the beach and the lifeguards are back to protect them.

Even though things are starting to look normal we should not forget, this is still a dangerous time and the virus has not disappeared. We are still expected to respect rules for social distancing and careful mixing of different households.

We should also remember to enjoy the ocean cautiously because if we get into trouble these are the guys who will have to put their lives at risk to save us. There is no social distancing possible in a small dinghy.

With lovely weather forecast for the week its the perfect time to enjoy our new found freedoms but that freedom comes with an important caveat to stay safe, stay local and still protect our key workers.
