THE DAILY RAVEN: Barry News

BARRY ISLAND IS OPEN AGAIN

The access road onto Barry Island is open again and car parking restrictions have been lifted after weeks of lockdown. With the sun shining, the residents of Barry flock to the beach to enjoy each others company and breathe in the fresh summer air.

The Rumba Bar is serving cocktails and beer as part of their take away service. The grass opposite becomes the biggest public beer garden in South Wales!

Most groups are respecting social distancing rules as they experience ‘new normal’ socialising. The cocktails and cold beer are certainly going down well.

Officers patrol the area but seem to have no concerns as the crowds are good natured, the atmosphere is good and everyone is respecting social distancing rules. At the moment Barry Island is open again for local residents only. When the 5 mile travelling limit is lifted in July things might become a little more challenging for local police.
