BARRY ISLAND IS OPEN AGAIN

The access road onto Barry Island is open again and car parking restrictions have been lifted after weeks of lockdown.

With the sun shining, the residents of Barry flock to the beach to enjoy each others company and breathe in the fresh summer air. The Rumba Bar is serving cocktails and beer as part of their take away service. The grass opposite becomes the biggest public beer garden in South Wales!

COVID-19 BARRY UPDATE. Another week and another change to the Welsh Government rules to help us through this Coronavirus Pandemic. South Wales Police continue to ensure that everyone abides by the rules.

Welsh Authorities are making huge efforts to avoid the problems associated with an influx of visitors whilst we remain in lockdown.

PREPARING FOR EASING OF LOCKDOWN RULES

Some Barry Island traders have started to prepare for the time when the Government review the Coronavirus Lockdown rules in Wales.

The first businesses to open are those who can offer take-away services. In fact these businesses were never forced by legislation to stop trading. They felt, however, that they had a social responsibility to close so as not to offer anything that might tempt the crowds of visitors we saw on the first weekend of lockdown….
