The daily queues outside local supermarkets are weirdly becoming the norm and empty streets, beaches, parks and playgrounds are not as shocking as they were this time last week.
TV advertisements are telling us that many of the large supermarket have reviewed their hygiene procedures in light of the covid_19 pandemic but nothing is as reassuring as having seen things for yourself.
At BARRY WATERFRONT ASDA there is a limit on the number of people allowed to shop at the same time and this has lead to queues, which are spaced at 1 – 2 metres apart.
They also offer disinfectant sprays and disposable paper towels for customers to wipe the handles of shopping trolleys and baskets before they start shopping in store.
Today on the Waterfront we also saw a security guard outside the main door overseeing the queues and cleansing facility.
We also noticed that he was also wiping down trolley handles in the storage bay.
Very reassuring to know that what you have to touch can be cleaned before you start your shopping.
This attention to detail also gives you confidence that there is likely to be a strong emphasis on high standards of hygiene in-store as well.
