Turkish Cuisine is very diverse. It’s an exciting fusion of Middle Eastern, Central Asian and Balkan cuisine that offers something for every palate.

Turkish food is very much about meat!
The perfect lunch in Mahmutlar in our opinion is Lamb Döner Kebab with a cold Efes Beer on Turkish flatbread which is thick and fluffy, not like the your typical “pita bread”
Most dine-in meals in the Turkish restaurants or lokantas in Mahmutlar are served with a salad, typically with lettuce, tomatoes, radishes and pickles.
Another favourite of ours is freshly baked Turkish Pide. Typically called compared to a thick base pizza, pide can be made with a filling of minced meat (lamb and/or beef), onions, tomato, parsley and spices, and a variety of local cheese.
Turkish Pide baked in a wood burning stone oven. Pide can be served in a variety of ways. It can be long and thin, rather than sliced to fit the plate (as its shown above).
There is so much great food to choose from and all very reasonable
Other favourites of ours include;
Kofte (like little lambburgers or meatballs)
AND OF COURSE Lahmucan (crispy thin crust Turkish pizza light bites)
CHICKEN SHISH KEBAB
Chicken Shish Kebab (skewers of BBQ chicken pieces served with salad and bread)
Adana Kebab – a long spicy kebab which is so tasty you will want another one and another one and another one.
