Dizzy’s (which used to be known as Izzy’s and has since become Foley’s) has been the most popular bar and restaurant in the centre of Mahmutlar for longer than 15 years.Â
The bar has always had lively and fun entertainment and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bar celebrated change of ownership and the name of Dizzy’s on St. Patricks Day in 2019.
The best restaurants in Mahmutlar are always busy and Dizzys is no exception. In high season it is particularly busy on live music evenings when you may struggle to find a table despite the restaurant being able to cater for well over 120 covers.
It was a night of birthdays this St Patricks Day but everyone had their cake eventually!
We think that this Mahmutlar restaurant has one of the largest, if not the largest, capacity for customers. During high season it regularly caters for numbers in excess of 120. Despite this one evening in July 2018 they were filled to capacity, had added extra tables and chairs AND had to turn away over 100 customers who had not pre-booked. That’s how popular this bar is.

MENU BEST OPTIONS
With numbers such as those quoted above it is, therefore, no surprise that the kitchen at Dizzy’s has a superb local reputation for the quality and quantity of food served.
They have sustained this high reputation for many years.
There is a wide range of options on the menu including some specials for the ex-pat community needing a little taste of home on occasion.
This includes the best fish and chips you have eaten in Mahmutlar where the fish meat is all white, the batter is crispy and fluffy. The chips are just as they should be, deep fried until golden brown with soft centres. Sooooooo tasty.
We sit there and shut our eyes when eating Dizzys fish chips – we are immediately back home with chips that taste like the best chippy in town and to top it all ……
THEY EVEN HAVE SARSONS VINEGAR!!!!
But don’t run away with the idea that this restaurant is about Brits Abroad, far from it. Whatever the chef at Dizzy’s cooks he cooks to perfection.
The Chef insists traditional cooking methods. You won’t hear the ping of a microwave defrosting or heating up your meals.

To an amazing variety of main courses all made to order and cooked from scratch.
Many dishes are cooked in the large wood burning charcoal oven
It really doesn’t come fresher than that.
The meat dishes are excellent as well with prime cuts of beef and the chefs own home-made gravy which is outstanding.
Our favourites are sizzling beef, steak and kidney pie and shepherd pie enough to make you drool just thinking about it.
Your biggest problem will be what to choose for your main course, then do you want creamy mash, roasties, or home-made chips?

Best restaurants also have best wines and at Dizzys has a superb wine collection for you to choose from. The restaurant has a great supplier and you will see wines here not available in any other restaurant in Mahmutlar.
There is bound to be a wine thats is just perfect for you, ask Adem to talk you through the wines so that you choose the perfect one for your taste and budget.

Dizzys attracts a great mix of nationalities and is particularly popular with ex-pat communities from many countries.

LIVE MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT NIGHTS AT DIZZYS
The routine at Dizzys is dinner service with calm music, suitably low volume so guests can chat and eat their meals in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
After 10 the tempo is raised so that those who like livelier entertainment, music and dancing can let their hair down and enjoy themselves until that boring clock strikes 12.
No-one goes home at 12 of course! Dizzys closes when all guests have gone home – sometimes that means it doesn’t close!!!!
You are guaranteed to be smiling and feeling happy at Dizzy’s. It is just that kind of place.
Be sure also to listen to the Irish when they take control of the microphone – such amazing singers – will often bring a tear to the eye.
You have a great choice of entertainment throughout the season. There are regular live music night, special events and a high standard karaoke session supported by the resident singer Karen.
Variety and is what makes this restaurant one of the best in Mahmutlar.

TUESDAY IS BIG BAND NIGHT
Tuesday are great in Dizzys. Your are treated to an evening performance of Gerry Voices, the most popular live band on the live music circuit. Expect calm and gentle music when you are eating and then more lively dance music later on as the wine starts to flow!!!

Karen hosts and sings every Friday and Sunday Night with the help of her talented friends. Not that she needs any help. Karen is an amazing singer, entertainer and host. She has a huge repertoire of songs so you never get bored.
